All operations activities for the Northern California and Western region are coordinated from our San Francisco regional office. This team is currently seeking a professional to manage CCS’s regional communications to support and enhance our business development efforts. The objective of this role is to produce compelling, consistent, creative, and professional print and web-based proposals, RFPs, and presentations for our team that both tell the unique story of CCS and differentiate us from our competitors.

Please note that this is not a sales or lead generating position.

Ideal candidates will possess excellent writing, communication, research, and design skills to contribute to the development of sales materials and resources. Prior experience with RFPs, proposals, marketing, and communications are a plus. The role requires experience managing deadline-driven projects in a fast-paced team environment. A passion for contributing to the well-being of nonprofits and mission-driven organizations is a must.


  • Assist the Director of Business Development and Strategy with projects in the sales and operations pipeline for the Western region
  • Manage the development and preparation of sales proposals, presentations, and other supporting materials, in coordination with the Director of Business Development and Executive Team. This process can include, but is not limited to:
  • Establishing internal deadlines to guide daily activity; monitor, and track workflow
  • Writing, editing, designing, and preparing all materials
  • Designing and recommending new and creative ways to tell the CCS story through visually compelling and easy-to-digest print and web-based materials
  • Updating and maintaining templates and common language for business development materials
  • Responding to requests from other CCS teams for approval of project descriptions
  • Researching new business opportunities and their relation to similar internal case studies to inform overall sales strategies
  • Ensuring the final editing, formatting, and distribution of select sales, marketing, and operational materials
  • Managing the tracking, organization, and digital archiving of all sales materials

Skill Requirements:

  • Minimum of three to five years of relevant experience preferred
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Thorough proofreading skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Creative presentation design experience - experience with InDesign, Photoshop, Publisher, and other graphic design programs a plus but not required
  • Ability to balance myriad tasks and deadlines efficiently, and with attention to detail
  • Advanced research skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Marketing, English, or other related fields
  • Demonstrated commitment to or interest in the nonprofit sector through professional, volunteer, or personal experience

This position is located in San Francisco with limited to no travel.
