The Hatcher Group seeks a talented, dynamic graphic designer with one to five years of experience to support a variety of clients and initiatives for nonprofit organizations working on progressive issues, including education reform, poverty and the environment. This position is in our Bethesda, Md., office.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree, relevant design work experience, a strong portfolio. He or she will be highly organized and able to multitask, as well as able to work independently and work well under pressure. The candidate should also have a commitment to progressive issues.

Proficiency with InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop is required, as is knowledge of WordPress and Microsoft Office. The candidate should also have experience creating, designing and maintaining websites and understand printing process and prepress.

Bonus skills include knowledge of motion graphics and experience with major social media platforms and working knowledge of CSS3 and HTML5. Bottom line: We’re looking for a great designer who is interested in progressive issues and who is fun to work with!

Job Duties

The graphic designer will work on a wide variety of projects, which may include:

  • Print design of brochures, flyers, reports
  • Website redesign, creation and maintenance
  • Branding campaigns, logos, advertisements and environmental graphics (transit posters and event graphics)
  • Design of compelling infographics and social media graphics
  • Presentation design materials
