The Friends Committee on National Legislation seeks an Annual Fund Director to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to support the organization’s non-partisan, multi-issue advocacy for social justice, peace, and stewardship of the environment.
FCNL was founded in 1943 at the height of World War II to lobby Congress on humane conscription and conscientious objection laws. It has never wavered from its core beliefs in peace and avoiding violent conflict. Through its decisiveness, conviction, and steadfastness, FCNL has become the largest and oldest faith-based public interest lobby in the country and a trusted voice of reason on both sides of the aisle on Capitol Hill.
FCNL’s view that violence does not solve problems has never been more relevant, as the U.S. grapples with 16 years of conflict in Iraq and continues to struggle with conflicts with Syria and North Korea. Over the next five years, FCNL will take bold steps to advocate for this view to transform national policy discourse and decision-making. This plan will require heightened visibility and financial support.
Today FCNL seeks an Annual Fund Director to help achieve financial growth. The Director will use new and innovative strategies, particularly in donor acquisition, retention, and digital fundraising, to set and achieve ambitious goals for growth of the Annual Fund and donor base.
The ideal candidate will have a broad annual giving background, with deep personal experience in direct mail and digital giving platforms, a proven record of collaboration with major gift and planned giving colleagues, and comfort with data-driven deliverables to make successful and cost-effective decisions. S/he will combine this experience with a team-building spirit and strong commitment to advocating for peace and social justice across the country and around the world.
