What we’re looking for

We are a growing business looking to hire a part-time bookkeeper who can help us with organizing our finances on a quarterly basis. We would like to work with a bookkeeper who can help us grow as our company expands. 


What we have

We have our 2020 Schedule C and we have financial reporting for our 2020 fiscal year (January 2020 through December). We currently use Xero for our accounting and invoicing needs and we are exploring transitioning to Quickbooks online. As a social sector consultancy, we are a service-based business. We are looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to maintain our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.


Responsibilities

Bookkeeper job duties include creating and analyzing financial reports and ensuring legal requirements compliance, processing accounts payable and receivables, and managing invoices and tax payments. Our ideal candidate holds a Finance or Accounting degree and is familiar with accounting software like Xero and Quickbooks online. Ultimately, the Bookkeeper’s responsibilities will be to accurately record all day-to-day financial transactions of our company. Additional duties are outlined below.

  • Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process
  • Verify that transactions are recorded in all appropriate ledgers
  • Bring the books to the trial balance stage
  • Perform partial checks of the posting process
  • Enter data, maintain records, and create reports and financial statements
  • Process accounts receivables/payable

Requirements

  • Proven bookkeeping experience
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
  • Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records
  • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets 
  • Proficiency in English and in MS Office
  • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
