College Workshop Facilitator Position Description

Pathway To Purpose seeks a driven candidate to serve as a workshop facilitator. The Workshop facilitator will strengthen Pathway To Purpose long-term sustainability by facilitating workshops to students and parents in NYC Department of Education middle schools and high schools.

This position requires a drive and passion for our mission paired with excellent written and oral communication skills, superlative attention to detail, and a high degree of self-direction. In addition, the successful candidate will be eager to learn and apply best practices and be outcomes-oriented. The Workshop Facilitator reports to the CEO while working closely with the entire Pathway To Purpose team.

About Pathway To Purpose

Pathway to Purpose partners with New York City 7-12 grade schools to create and enhance the college-going culture. We offer a full range of personalized developmental and pre-college support services to empower staff, teachers, students and families with the critical tools and action steps needed to prepare students for college and career readiness. Students will learn in a fun, engaging, and holistic environment to develop the strategy, motivation, and accountability required to succeed in their academic, career, and personal journey. The extensive knowledge gained will helps students streamline the college preparation process, thus making the transition to college a positive, pleasant, realistic, and successful experience.

Workshop Facilitator Job Description

  • Facilitate workshops for Department of Education schools serving grades 6 to 12
  • Present in person workshops with clients and students
  • Promote transparency and accountability in each presentation
  • Ability to engage middle school and high school students (Grades 6 through 12)
  • Work independently and in a group
  • Assist with preparation for presentation with young adults and administrative school staff
  • Deliver accurate and concise given information


  • Maintain high levels of professionalism at all times
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented
  • Professional business attire for all meetings
  • Punctual (arriving early to all workshops)
  • Adapt to a fast-paced environment
  • Follow-up with all constituents as needed
  • Be prepared for all events, workshops, and meetings
  • Excellent verbal communication
  • MUST Available to between 7am-3pm
  • Flexible schedule
  • Deliver accurate information, address concerns, and answer questions

  • Bilingual, fluent Spanish speaker
  • Education degree preferred
  • Recent graduate preferred
  • Masters Preferred, Bachelors Degree required
  • 2+ years of teaching middle school students
  • Experience with first generation, low income students
  • Familiarity with NYC, especially the Bronx
  • Excellent writing/editing skills and verbal communications
  • High degree of self-direction and focus on execution
  • Unwavering commitment to excellence
  • Excellent judgment and impeccable integrity
  • Appetite to work independently and ability to thrive within an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, and growing company
  • Must have MINIMUM 1 year experience as a facilitator
  • MUST be available for March training/start date
  • MUST be available 7am-7pm (VERY open schedule)
