We are Wingo NYC – a growing fundraising and donor communications consulting firm, seeking an energetic, enthusiastic and creative Development Assistant. We build powerful and sustainable individual and major giving campaigns including virtual and in-person galas for social and cultural change. Wingo NYC has strengthened 400+ nonprofit clients since 1996 by providing hands-on nonprofit fundraising, event production and design services.

This new full-time staff position will support our fundraising work with clients, helping to move contract deliverables forward as we work with organizations to build and manage donor prospect pipelines, create beautiful fundraising solicitation and cultivation materials, and implement special events. The Assistant will work closely with the client engagement teams and report to the Associate Director of Client Engagement.

Duties:

  • Create and maintain client donor/funder prospect trackers
  • Assist with client fundraising appeal data including mailing lists
  • Assist with board trainings, including preparing necessary materials
  • Research individual, foundation and corporate donor prospects using Foundation Center Directory Online, iWave and other online research methods
  • Provide administrative support, including scheduling client meetings, making follow up calls and emails
  • Write social media posts for donor communications
  • Create project calendars and timelines
  • Assist with host committees and peer-to-peer fundraising teams
  • Conduct research to support events, including prospective venues, vendors and client marketing items
  • Help plan and implement major donor cultivation events
  • Support our events team on day-of-event tasks for 8-10 galas per year
  • Support our business goals and objectives
  • Help oversee print and digital mailings
  • Provide other events, client support and office management, as needed

Experience:

We are looking for a candidate with 1-2 years administrative experience who can fill this role with competence, grace and humor. Must possess great attention to detail; ability to communicate effectively and efficiently in group settings; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Forms); experience in special events support; a demonstrated commitment to social justice and the missions of our clients – and be able to work evenings as needed for client meetings and events.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary is in the range of $45,000-$50,000 per year. Benefits include unlimited paid vacation (after 90 days of employment and with supervisor’s approval), five sick days, Summer Fridays, $500 per month towards health insurance, access to dental and vision insurance, 401(k), subsidized MTA transit pass and more. Wingo NYC is a positive work environment with wonderful colleagues and clients.
