SCP (www.aboutscp.com) seeks a Communications Associate to join our staff on a full-time basis. Working on a variety of client teams, this person will do a bit of everything—from conducting background research to implementing finalized communications plans. More specifically, they will help develop new creative and strategy recommendations for clients; play an important role in developing and implementing new websites, e-newsletters, and print publications; and conduct traditional and social media outreach. Depending on their experience level, they may also manage client relations. This position will report to SCP’s Senior Associates and the President.

 

Post-pandemic, we expect this person to work from our offices in Chestnut Hill in Philadelphia, through at least their 3-month on-boarding period. After this, SCP is committed to finding work situations that meet our staff’s and organization’s needs.

  

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as member of multiple client teams
  • Conduct background research in the development of marketing and branding campaigns
  • Participate in strategy and creative development as part of these campaigns
  • Implement traditional and social media outreach on behalf of clients
  • Manage ongoing client contacts and scheduling
  • Update websites on content management systems (e.g. WordPress)
  • Develop and/or maintain databases, websites, e-newsletters, and print publications associated with client work
  • Update SCP’s website with new content
  • Provide administrative support to client projects and the firm, as needed

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Internship or other experience in public relations, marketing, or communications in the social or public sectors, preferably in the healthcare space
  • Team player, willing to pitch in on a variety of projects and tasks
  • Self-starter with excellent time management skills and close attention to detail
  • Comfort with learning about or using new technologies, including content management systems and social media platforms
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills; ability to implement practical solutions
  • Strong writing/communication skills, preferably for promotional, editorial, or educational purposes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Mailchimp (or similar newsletter platform), WordPress (or similar CMS), and Cision Communications Cloud
  • Demonstrated commitment to service and passion for social impact
  • Working knowledge of Spanish preferred

Salary and benefits

$60-$72,000 depending on experience. 401k, 20+ days PTO annually, and a contribution to health coverage are all part of the benefits package.
