All operations activities for the Northern California and Western region are coordinated from our San Francisco regional office. This team is currently seeking a professional to help manage CCS’s regional communications to support and enhance our business development efforts. The objective of this role is to coordinate events that cultivate and steward our relations with former, current, and prospective clients and raise CCS’s visibility and to assist with preparing print and web-based proposals, RFPs, and presentations to attract new clients.


Please note that this is not a sales or lead-generating position.


Ideal candidates will possess strong organizational, writing, communication, research, and design skills to contribute to the planning and organizing of events that may include, but are not limited to, roundtables, panels, conferences, and seminars. Prior experience with RFPs, proposals, marketing, and communications are a plus. The role requires experience managing deadline-driven projects in a fast-paced team environment. A passion for contributing to the well-being of nonprofits and mission-driven organizations is preferred.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of Business Development and Strategy with projects in the sales and operations pipeline for the Western region
  • Coordinate events
  • Help design creative events for target audiences, including leaders in independent schools, healthcare, and the arts
  • Develop and manage an events calendar
  • Design event invitations, programs, and presentation materials
  • Develop invitation lists; track RSVPs and handle correspondence with attendees and presenters
  • Organize logistical details to ensure successful events, including identifying and securing venues, catering, set-up, AV, etc.
  • Document and evaluate events to inform future events
  • Assist with the development and preparation of sales proposals, presentations, and other supporting materials, in coordination with the Communications Manager. This process can include, but is not limited to:
  • Meet internal deadlines to guide daily activity
  • Writing, editing, designing, and preparing materials
  • Editing, formatting, and distribution of select sales, marketing, and operational materials
  • Assisting with the archiving of all sales materials
  • Oversee office duties including ordering supplies; prep for meetings including setting up conference calls; answering telephones; and general administrative functions, as assigned.


Skill Requirements:

  • Minimum of two to three years of relevant experience preferred
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Strong writing skills
  • Thorough proofreading skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Creative presentation design experience - experience with InDesign, Publisher, and other graphic design programs a plus but not required
  • Ability to balance myriad tasks and deadlines efficiently, and with attention to detail
  • Strong research skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Marketing, English, or other related fields
  • Demonstrated commitment or interest to the nonprofit sector through professional, volunteer, or personal experience preferred.
  • Efficient, friendly phone manner


This position is located in San Francisco with limited to no travel.
