    Position Overview

    The Public Health Strategic Planning Consultant will provide expert guidance and support to local health departments, regional public health collaboratives, and industry groups in developing and implementing effective strategic plans to enhance public health outcomes. This role involves assessing current public health initiatives, identifying opportunities, facilitating client conversations, and formulating comprehensive strategies that align with organizational goals and community needs.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assessment and Analysis: Conduct thorough evaluations of existing public health programs and initiatives to identify strengths, opportunities, organizational capacity, and key support functions.
    • Strategic Planning: Facilitate the development of long-term strategic plans that address public health priorities, incorporating data-driven insights and stakeholder input.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with public health officials, community leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure inclusive participation in the planning process.
    • Project Management: Lead project management of strategic planning efforts, including defining project timelines, coordinating with partners, managing tasks, and ensuring timely project delivery.
    • Implementation Support: Assist organizations in executing strategic plans, providing ongoing support, training, and resources to ensure successful implementation.
    • Evaluation and Monitoring: Establish metrics and evaluation frameworks to measure the effectiveness of strategic initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement.
    • Communication and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate findings, recommendations, and progress to stakeholders.

    Qualifications

    • Education: Master’s degree in Public Health or a related field.
    • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience facilitating strategic planning initiatives and drafting strategic plans. Experience in public health or a related field.
    • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; excellent communication, project management, and facilitation skills; proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
    • Knowledge: Familiarity with local public health frameworks, policies, and best practices; understanding of community health needs and resources.

    Working Conditions

    • Remote work, with occasional travel to client sites, conferences, or meetings as required.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced consulting environment.
