We are McKinley Advisors, a leading association consulting firm. We are searching for a talented, driven professional interested in business and market development through writing. The Proposal Development Associate will work in collaboration with an experienced team to develop and respond to business opportunities through proposal writing as well as support execution of sales and marketing campaigns that lead to new project and/or business opportunities with new and existing clients. McKinley’s core business areas include research, strategy and outsourced, marketing solutions.


Responsibilities will include proposal writing, market development, data management and supporting McKinley’s sales and marketing efforts. Day-to-day activities will include:

 Writing multiple professional, accurate and detailed proposals and PowerPoint presentations in response to new business opportunities

 Attending client meetings with Business Development team members to generate new business

 Working closely with McKinley team members to translate technical concepts into compelling written and graphic client ready materials, understandable to wide audiences

 Maintaining a centralized client database to influence sales, marketing and internal project management efforts

 Monitoring McKinley’s project portfolio and collaborating with project teams to track project outcomes

 Managing contract administration with key staff and tracking the status of project contracts


Experience and skills needed to succeed in the role include:

 Bachelor’s degree

 1-2 years’ successful work experience as a proposal writer, including any internships held

 Superior written and verbal communication skills

 Attention to detail, accuracy and excellent organizational skills

 Basic PowerPoint and Excel skills

 Strong customer service orientation

 Professional demeanor and cooperative spirit
