We are looking for a communications associate to work a 10 week medical leave assignment for our client, an international foundation. Candidates must be available to work 7/26/21-10/1/21. This is a remote role, but you must be located in NY or NJ. The role is 37.5 hours per week, 5 days per week (Mon-Fri during 9am-5pm) and pays $26/hr.
This role is a temporary position through Temporary Staffing by Suzanne, Ltd. You would be employed and paid by our company and working directly with the foundation. You can learn more about us at www.suzannenyc.com.
Job Description: This role will support a variety of communications activities, with a primary focus on utilizing online tools to effectively communicate the mission, goals, and activities of the Foundation. The candidate will manage the Foundation's digital media presence, including the website—the primary communication vehicle—and social media accounts, under the guidance of the Director of Communications. The candidate work closely with the Director to produce information resources, support transparency and accountability, monitor the media, and perform other duties, as assigned.
-Craft weekly social media posts for Facebook and Twitter profiling grantees, peers, and other partners and/or highlighting developments at the Foundation using defined templates, and post with approval from the Communications Director
•Engage daily on social media (retweet, share, like) with approval from the Communication Director
•Upload contact information for new grantees to Mailchimp lists and follow these organizations and their leaders on social media channels each month
•Monitor the communications email inbox and redirect media requests and other inquiries as appropriate
•Monitor the media for mentions of the Foundation, its grantees, or relevant developments in its fields of work and compile press clippings for monthly report using Cision database and Google alerts
•Work with consultants and vendors for maintenance of website, content development, etc., and support administrative aspects of these engagements, including receiving and processing invoices each week
•Compile, design, edit, and send event marketing and other mass emails in Mailchimp
•1-3 years of prior communications experience
•professional experience with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn
•experience with CMS, email marketing, and media database platforms (Drupal CMS, Mailchimp, Box online file management, and Cision preferred)
•experience working at a foundation or non-profit organization preferred
