Office Manager/Bookkeeper, Sustainable Green Building

Caplow|Manzano is seeking an experienced and dynamic Office Manager/Bookkeeper who can keep our small start-up of ten people organized and connected.

Central features of our work include net zero energy design, indoor air quality innovations for human health, and elevation for sea-level rise and climate change. We are a team of researchers, engineers, hikers, and dog lovers who are interested in sustainability and the future of South Florida. 

The right candidate will be able to..

• Fluidly manage all aspects of small business financials including Quickbooks, Generating Monthly Reports, Budgeting, Accounts Payable & Receivable, and Cash Management
• Human Resources administration including payroll processing, insurance, compliance, vacation scheduling, etc
• Oversee general office operations: tax and regulatory filings (for half a dozen separate LLC’s); business insurance; calendars; coordinating meetings
• Prepare, review and edit documents of varying kinds, including contracts, meeting agendas, vendor communications, etc
• Participate in meetings to not just capture minutes, but also determine action items, prepare summaries, and oversee any related operational execution
• Maintain and expand our positive, friendly, and balanced team atmosphere

The right candidate must be..

• Extremely organized
• Quickbooks proficient
• Competent in PowerPoint, Excel, and Google Suite
• Comfortable with numbers and experienced with bill payment and bank account management
• Able to review letters and contracts; eye for detail; good written communication skills
• Poised under pressure with a good sense of humor
• Experienced with small business (preferred)
• Interested in sustainability and resiliency (preferred) 

The right candidate must have...

• A bachelor’s degree in any relevant field
• A minimum of 2-4 years experience in a similar role

Commitment & Compensation

Full-time. Salary 30k to 45k based on experience. Health plan offered after trial period.
