About the Job: We have an immediate opening for a Full Charge Bookkeeper. We are looking for a self-starter who can handle multiple client accounts, master deadlines and keep clients on track. We love our clients and their mission and want it to show in our work. The position is full time – 40 hours per week. The job would entail maintaining the books for several nonprofit organizations. After an initial training period the new Bookkeeper would be expected to work independently from home. Salary DOE, paid holidays, sick, and vacation time.
Skills Necessary for the Job:
Three to five years in nonprofit accounting.
At least two years of accounting study at an accredited college or university.
Experience preparing audit schedules and 990 schedules.
Ability to reconcile complicated books and set up proper accounting processes.
Ability to set up a new system for tracking specific programs, grants and restricted funds.
Ability to effectively communicate with clients in all situations.
Ability to organize one’s time and ensure that promised deadlines are met. Be able to communicate effectively with clients who are not meeting their scheduled obligations.
Must be extremely proficient in QuickBooks Pro. Excel and Drop Box. Must have experience with all modules of QuickBooks, i.e. Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, etc..
Most important, must be able to make a personal connection with each client.
