Job Description: 

  • Demonstrates a strong belief in the mission and vision of the organization
  • Assists with the design and implementation of company programming included but not limited to: SEL on Demand, Class Catalyst, educator-based coaching and other professional development at various school sites nationally
  • Supports school-based administrators, teachers and other school staff in identifying SEL priorities and needs unique to each school community
  • Works in collaboration with school-based personnel at various locations to help improve classroom management and instructional practices in ways that enhance students’ social and emotional development
  • Provides onsite or remote in-class SEL instruction for students and coaching/modeling for teachers/staff
  • Assists with program development, coordination, implementation and evaluation 
  • Maintains positive working relationship with customers and colleagues; attends required weekly meetings and contributes actively as a team member
  • Other duties as may be required or assigned


Specialist Qualifications:

  • Experience working with a diverse student body
  • Strong coaching skills, as well as experience planning other professional learning (study groups, team meetings) for teachers and assistants
  • Strong teaching skills and expertise in the classroom with students
  • Strong instructional skills and expertise specific to working with adult learners (i.e. teachers, school counselors, principals, etc.)
  • Knowledge of best practices advancements in terms of SEL and mindfulness research and instruction
  • Interested candidates must reside in the Chicago area for this particular role
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, strong time management skills, self-motivated and highly collaborative
  • Mobility and flexibility to work out of various locations
