About Us

Carpe Diem offers Gap Year programs designed to safely challenge every student through service, travel, community, and authentic cultural exchange. Students are challenged to become confident travelers and global citizens, ready to take the initiative and travel on their own. By venturing out of their home-countries and comfort zones, our students discover an educational alternative to the traditional classroom environment. We focus on volunteering and learning abroad, opening students’ minds to the ways cultures live in different or sometimes similar ways: we all want to be happy, we all are searching for meaning. How this search is expressed in different cultures provides the backdrop for tremendous personal growth as students engage with the process of becoming an adult.

Our students come from all backgrounds and have many different reasons for wanting to attend an international study abroad program. They do, however, have some very important things in common – they all want to grow and experience the world.

University credit and federal financial aid (FAFSA) available.

Our study abroad programs open the eyes of young adults and help them learn more about themselves by learning more about the world. Each Carpe Diem student's study abroad volunteer program gives the opportunity for young adults to make a difference in the world in which they live, while also pursuing higher academic opportunities. College credit is available through all of our semester abroad programs and over 80% of our attendees return to a four-year university within six months of completing their overseas journey.
