Tenants Rights Attorney

The Opportunity

It's an exciting time to join our growing law firm! We are looking for a motivated, dedicated Landlord Tenant attorney.

A successful person in this role will:

You will appear in court regularly and draft legal documents including motions and oppositions to motions and appear in court. The candidate must be comfortable navigating a small but high volume, fast-paced office and perform well under pressure of managing multiple time sensitive projects and must have excellent legal drafting skills.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research to support legal proceedings
• Drafting documents including rent demands, petitions, motions, oppositions, etc.
• Defend NYC tenants against eviction proceedings
• Investigate facts to help in the negotiation of legal disputes
• Filing motions and other documents with various courts in NYC
• Appearing in court (Bronx, Manhattan, Kings and Queens)

Qualifications:

• NY bar admission required.
• Prior law firm experience or prior experience with drafting legal documents required.
• Knowledgeable of landlord tenant law including, non-payment cases, holdovers, etc.
• Ability to work independently.
• Familiarity with legal research.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask.
• ***Excellent written and verbal communication skills***
• Deadline and detail-oriented.
