Are you passionate about social justice and intervention? Do you care about affecting social change for those who are marginalized, vulnerable, and/or oppressed? There's a nationally top-ranked graduate degree for that! Our graduates ignite social change as community organizers, mental health counselors, immigrant & refugee allies, activists, hospital social workers, school social workers, policy advocates, aging specialists, researchers, and more. Our Master of Social Work (MSW) and PhD in Social Welfare programs offer versatile graduate degrees that open doors for career advancement and social impact.

As members of the University of Washington School of Social Work in Seattle, we commit ourselves to promoting social and economic justice for poor and oppressed populations and enhancing the quality of life for all. Explore our website to learn more about our academic programs, and why the Center for World University Rankings honored us at the #1 social work program in the world in 2017.

The three-year, part-time MSW program ("Extended Degree Program" - EDP) allows you the flexibility to earn an advanced degree from a nationally top-ranked Social Work program. Designed to meet the needs of working individuals, classes are offered in the evening or on weekends (Friday/Saturday). Our two-year, full-time MSW program ("Day Program") offers a more traditional full-time graduate school experience, where you'll earn an MSW in two years.
