The Mindanao Peacebuilding Institute (MPI) is now accepting applicants for its 19th Annual Peacebuilding Training from May 7 to May 25, 2018, at Mergrande Resort, Davao City, Philippines.
For over 18 years now, MPI has successfully conducted its Annual Peacebuilding Training and has trained over 2,000 peacebuilders coming from more than 40 countries around the globe. It is a resource for peacebuilders: providing skills, conducting research, and building solidarity in the Asia-Pacific region.
Now is your chance to be part of our growing network. Join us for our 19th Annual Peacebuilding Training with the theme Creating a Culture of Peace.
Share, learn, and enhance your knowledge and skills in courses that explore major themes and cutting-edge debates in areas such as conflict transformation, peace education, religious peacebuilding, and trauma healing. These intensive courses are taught by a distinguished roster of facilitators from Asia-Pacific and other countries. You may choose to enroll for one, two or three weeks.

The event will be held in at Mergrande Ocean Resort in Talomo District, Davao City.
For participants arriving at Francisco Bangoy International Airport in Davao City, MPI will provide an airport pick-up. This will be shared with you once your application is accepted. If you are unable to make any of the pick-up schedules, please plan to take a taxi from the airport to the venue. You will have to shoulder this expense. A one-way trip rate should not exceed PhP500.00.
For participants within Davao City or Mindanao and those who want to make use of local transportation, you may take the jeepneys bound for Toril/Mulig.
- Take a Toril/Mulig bound jeepney from downtown Davao City (this jeepney passes by NCCC-Maa, JS/Ilustre-Gaisano, Aldevinco/Roxas Blvd., and SM-Ecoland); instruct the driver to drop you off at the crossing going to Mergrande Resort. One-way fare is PhP20 for one person.
- From the crossing, take a sidecar/tricycle and tell the driver to take you to Mergrande Resort. Be sure that you ask for the price before you get in the tricycle. Going-rates should not exceed PhP30.
Who should attend
This training is geared toward grassroots peacebuilders, but will be of benefit to anyone involved directly or indirectly in peacebuilding and conflict transformation. MPI has welcome participants from NGOs, government sector, faith-based organizations and the security sector.
