The Division of University Outreach and Engagement at Oregon State University (OSU) is seeking a Juntos Statewide Leader. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE) 12-month, fixed term professional faculty position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the OSU Open Campus & Special Initiatives Leader.
The Division of University Outreach and Engagement at Oregon State University enhances access to enrichment and problem solving through reciprocal relationships for the exchange of knowledge and resources in partnership with individuals, communities, business, industries, government, and educational institutions.
This Juntos Statewide Leader will be a team member of the Division of University Outreach and Engagement’s OSU Open Campus and will have statewide responsibilities.
OSU Open Campus is a partnership among Oregon State University, the Association of Oregon Counties, many of Oregon’s Community Colleges, regional economic development groups, K-12 education systems, business communities, and local government. The goal of OSU Open Campus is to provide local access to learning that meets the needs of individuals, families, businesses, and communities.
This Juntos Statewide Leader will provide local leadership, statewide direction and coordination, and foster partnerships needed to advance and sustain OSU Open Campus and Juntos program goals.
The Juntos program provides Latino parents and 8-12th grade students with culturally relevant programming and resources to graduate from high school and gain access to post-secondary educational opportunities. This hands-on program is taught primarily in Spanish and meets for 2-hours once a week for six weeks in the evenings. Other components of Juntos include: advising, clubs & mentoring, family nights, and college visits.
This position will require traveling to meet with local officials, education and community agencies, employers and economic development staff, and individuals as well as to fulfill the general work requirements of this position.
Active and effective communication with staff and key stakeholders is critical to the success of this position and access to wireless services is necessary.

Level of Language Proficiency
Bilingual (English and Spanish) and Bicultural. Demonstrated ability to engage Spanish speaking audiences through the utilization of bi-literate and bicultural skills.
