William E. Macaulay Honors College is a flagship program for high-achieving students at The City University of New York. Located on the Upper West Side, Macaulay offers an exceptional academic and co-curricular environment for engaged and motivated students, who come from all parts of New York and around the world. Macaulay students enroll in one of eight CUNY colleges (Baruch, Brooklyn, City, Hunter, John Jay, Lehman, Queens, and Staten Island), and our program is unique in that we seek to truly integrate academic and student affairs. Our advisors assist each student as he/she develops a coordinated, individualized academic program including internship experience; research; global learning; graduate and professional mentoring; and community engagement.


Reporting to the Vice President for External Relations, in addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the External Relations Coordinator provides essential support for Macaulay’s fundraising operations.


Other duties include but are not limited to:

- Responsible for Raiser’s Edge database administration including the system’s data integrity; maintains database, enters gifts, develops customized reports for front-line fundraisers, and conducts training for new users;

- Manages departmental files and develops a well-organized filing system for both paper and electronic documents; ensures filing system meets standards and is in compliance with all CUNY policies and applicable federal or state laws for document retention;

- Monitors and tracks the department’s budget including expenses, invoices and bids;

- Assists with organizing and administering College fundraising activities;

- Provides support to the front-line fundraisers for mailings, events, and other special projects, as needed.


CUNY Title Overview:

- Supports College fundraising activities by providing operational and analytical support.

- Researches potential funding programs and opportunities.

- Researches, compiles, and prepares various data for reports and analysis.

- Participates in drafting funding proposals, applications, and other correspondence.

- Assists with prospect research.

- Prepares pre- and post-solicitation materials.

- Provides support for fundraising activities and events.

- May supervise office operations and/or monitor department budget.

- Performs related duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required.


A preferred candidate should have:

- Experience with Raiser’s Edge.

- 1-2 years of experience working in higher education.

- Interest in supporting the mission of a public honors college.

- Highly proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

- Strong diplomatic and customer service skills.

- Ability to be a team-player.

- Strong attention to detail.

- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
