Description

The Appalachian Regional Commission, an economic development agency, seeks a health analyst to develop and deploy a regional strategy focused on opioid and substance abuse prevention, recovery, and pathway to employment, working collaboratively with the ARC Federal Office and state partners. This position will also facilitate the Appalachian Health Policy Advisory Council (AHPAC) and coordinate administration of health-related interagency agreements between ARC and other federal entities. This role will manage health related projects and grants initiated by the thirteen state partners and collaborating with federal and state administering agencies, Local Development Districts (LDDs), ARC grantees, and other community-based organizations throughout Appalachia.


This position requires knowledge of rural health strategies and innovative practices, experience with opioid and substance abuse issues including recovery and prevention strategies, prevention access and support, and trauma informed care and the ability to facilitate diverse groups and individuals to advance their goals in a consultative and collaborative manner. This position also requires a Bachelor’s Degree in health policy, business administration or a related field.
