TEMPORARY PARALEGAL

INSURANCE & FINANCIAL SERVICES DIVISION

The Attorney General's Office is looking for a temporary Paralegal to assist our Insurance & Financial Services Division. The Division handles cases related to banking, securities, and insurance.  This position will last for six months.

Primary Duties:  Provide administrative and investigative support relating to ongoing settlement implementations. The Paralegal will work with attorneys and other personnel on locating relevant consumers, providing them with notices and documentation, and obtaining materials and forms from those consumers. The Paralegal will also assist with inputting data into Excel and performing sorts and searches of this data. The outreach work will include communications by mail, telephone, and electronic discussions.  While the position will largely be remote work, the paralegal will need to periodically report to the Attorney General’s Office in Boston.

Position Requirements:  We seek an individual committed to working in the public interest.  Applicants must have a demonstrated ability to complete assignments and complex tasks, follow instructions, and produce high-quality work product. Effective writing, internet research, and communication skills are required. Proficiency in programs such as Microsoft Excel and Word are important, and language skills in addition to English are useful. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a connection to the people and communities we serve, and an interest in supporting a respectful and inclusive work environment. 

Please Note: Vaccines will be required of all AGO employees (absent an approved medical or religious accommodation or pregnancy exemption) when we return to the office under our new hybrid model, currently anticipated for November 1, 2021.

Position Type: This is a full-time contract position for six months.

Compensation: $20 per hour with paid sick time. This is a non-benefited position.
