Fresno Housing is looking for an equity-minded leader to join our team as the Chief Diversity Officer. This position will lead the finalization and execution of our strategic plan for diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), work across departments to optimize organizational culture, align our DEI goals with business outcomes, and act as a resource to the Fresno community to advance DEI efforts and outcomes. This position serves as an advisor to the leadership team, Boards of Commissioners, and community partners regarding DEI best practices and programs, as well as DEI progression and outcomes. We have utilized the expertise of an established, nationally-recognized DEI consulting firm to initiate our efforts and are seeking someone who can elevate and accelerate our momentum. This is a unique, ground-level opportunity to play a leading role in helping to demonstrate how diversity, equity and inclusion can transform a community.

Primary areas of ownership include but are not limited to:

·       DEI Strategic Plan: Responsible for the finalization and implementation of Agency’s DEI Strategic Plan; oversees strategic initiatives to enhance DEI in the workforce, workplace and marketplace; creates assessment systems, tracks results of new initiatives, and communicates those results.

·       Corporate Culture/Workplace: Assists and supports the FH leadership team and the Human Resources in furthering corporate culture initiatives that align with the Agency’s DEI Strategic Plan.

·       Workforce: Partners with Human Resources (HR) to ensure DEI strategies are integrated into a cohesive approach to recruiting, hiring, promotions, management practices, and succession planning.

·       DEI Awareness Communications: Leads the development and dissemination of internal and external communications related to DEI; directs efforts to design and deliver DEI training, presentations, and workshops aligned with the DEI strategy.

·       External Partners/Marketplace: Recommends and drives the development of effective relationships with other agencies, organizations, and associations throughout Fresno to support for DEI-specific initiatives and programs.

·       Policies & Practices: Reviews FH policies, practices, and procedures to ensure they are fair, unbiased, and do not result in disparate impact; identifies new programs, initiatives, and/or policies that can bolster diversity and inclusion within the Agency.

·       Resource Allocation/Utilization: Works with the leadership team to identify and acquire the resources needed to implement short-and long-range DEI strategies.

Fresno Housing envisions hiring at the level of a Chief Diversity Officer with a competitive salary and benefits. However, candidates with less experience are encouraged to apply.
