General Knowledge: 

The Connecticut General Assembly’s nonpartisan Commission on Racial Equity in Public Health seeks a full-time Commission Legislative Analyst. Primary responsibility include staffing Commission

activities and legislative subcommittees, analyzing bills and public acts, drafting policy research reports, and preparing written and verbal responses to inquiries research questions from legislators, and caucus staff, stakeholders, and partners.

 Preferred Skills and Abilities:

Requires superior writing, research, and analytical skills; nonpartisanship; sound judgment; attention to detail; and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work under pressure and be willing to work extensive overtime during legislative sessions.

Special Experience:

Baccalaureate and BA required; MPH, MPA, MPP, JD, or other advanced degree strongly preferred. Public policy research experience and knowledge of state government and the legislative process are helpful. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience starting salary $57,921. Applicants with extensive, directly related experience may be considered for the position of Analyst II.
