The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) is a regional economic development agency that represents a partnership of federal, state, and local government. Established by an act of Congress in 1965, ARC is composed of the governors of the 13 Appalachian states and a federal co-chair, who is appointed by the president. Local participation is provided through multi-county local development districts. ARC's mission is to be a strategic partner and advocate for sustainable community and economic development in Appalachia.
ARC seeks an analyst to manage a portfolio of grants focusing on business financing, business accelerators / incubators, entrepreneurial education and training, business technical assistance, and local food systems. This position will also advise and collaborate with ARC state partners and local, community-based organizations on business tactics which will strengthen Appalachia’s economy. This is an exciting opportunity to apply entrepreneurial and business development strategies to support economic development in the Appalachian Region. We seek applicants with knowledge of public and non-profit business support strategies and economic development practices.
