State of Louisiana legal advocacy agency seeks attorney with 5+ years of experience to serve as Director. Full time, no outside practice, eight offices statewide, Director’s office in Baton Rouge.

The preferred candidate will have background in mental health and child advocacy, trial work, legislative activities, funding, supervision of human resources, and familiarity with data collection.

Louisiana law license required.

  • Unclassified position. Full time, no outside practice of law.
  • Program provides legal representation for persons with mental disabilities and abused and neglected children.
  • Unique state-wide legal representation follows client wherever placed.
  • Director provides leadership and ensures supervision of staff.
  • Prepares, submits and administers budget request.
  • Benefits including group health insurance and retirement.
  • Salary $84,000+ depending on qualifications/experience.
