Prosecutor Based Victim Advocate

The Office of the Fayette Commonwealth’s Attorney is hiring a full-time entry-level Victim Advocate to provide services to victims of a variety of crimes.

Primary Responsibilities:

•Advocacy throughout the Circuit Court criminal process:

- informing survivors of their rights and options

- assisting with the Crime Victim Compensation Application

- gathering restitution information

- facilitating communication with the prosecutor      

- attending trials and other hearings with survivors         

- assisting with Victim Impact Statements

•Safety Planning

•Referrals to outside agencies for resources

•Collaboration with partner agencies

Minimum Qualifications:

·   Bachelor’s Degree in a human services field (social work, psychology, criminal justice, etc.)

·   Experience in human services or the court system

Salary Range:

$32,000 – $34,000
