Volunteer Coordinator (AmeriCorps position), Truancy Prevention Program, Montgomery County State's Attorney's Office
Details: $13,732 stipend
Make a lasting difference in the lives of at-risk middle-school students by recruiting, training, supervising, and retaining volunteers who help staff the State's Attorney's Truancy Prevention Program (TPP). You will be a full-time AmeriCorps Member with Volunteer Maryland, which will train you to be a volunteer coordinator before you begin your national service at the Montgomery County State's Attorney's Office. The position requires a commitment to community service, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, the ability to work well independently and as part of a team in a formal office setting, good writing ability, and proficiency with current technology. You must be able to begin training on September 5, 2018 and serve until July 23, 2019, have a reliable car for local travel, and pass a criminal background review done in accordance with applicable law.
Health care coverage and child care coverage is available if needed. A student loan may be deferred, and training in volunteer program management is provided. Upon successful completion of your AmeriCorps service, an education award of $5,920 is earned.
