New York City Council Member-Elect Shahana Hanif represents the 39th Council District in Brooklyn, which includes the neighborhoods of Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Park Slope, Gowanus, Columbia Waterfront, Windsor Terrace, Kensington, and Borough Park.
She will be the first woman to represent the 39th District and the first Muslim woman ever elected to New York City Council.
