Our Program
At DePaul’s College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (LAS), you’ll create a strong foundation from which to think, solve, lead and live. Home to more than 30 dynamic graduate programs and certificates within traditional fields and in blended disciplines, designed and scheduled to meet the needs of working students.
The Applied Diplomacy MA is multidisciplinary, deeply rooted in an ethic of collaboration and designed to build bridges across multiple boundaries of difference. Our core courses offer a shared understanding of diplomatic studies, global relations, international political economy and sustainable international development, a firm foundation to complement six diverse concentrations.
The graduate program in Applied Diplomacy offers six concentrations through which students will prepare for a variety of vocational paths:
- Diplomacy and International Public Service
- Diplomacy and Global Public Health
- Urban Diplomacy
- Diplomacy and Migration
- Diplomacy and Critical Ethnic Studies
- Critical Approaches to Diplomacy

Application Deadline
The M.A. in Applied Diplomacy starts students each term: fall (September), winter (January), spring (March), and summer (June). We recommend that applications are submitted 4-6 weeks ahead of the start of the intended term.
