The Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies is a world-leading, Swiss accredited school specialising in global affairs and international development. We offer disciplinary master and PhD programmes in Economics, History, International Law, International Relations/Political Science and Anthropology & Sociology. Additionally, we offer interdisciplinary master degrees in International Affairs and Development Studies.

Our students hail from over 100 countries, with 85% coming from outside Switzerland. They form a diverse, dynamic and welcoming community.

Geneva is the city to be when it comes to the study of global governance. It is safe, small and cosmopolitan, set between Europe’s largest lake and tallest mountain. It is also home to the United Nations, Red Cross, World Trade Organization, World Health Organization, UNHCR and other major multilateral agencies, NGOs and advocacy groups. Our students enjoy successful internships and careers in international organisations, the private sector, government, non-profits, higher education and research.
