The University of Aberdeen is the fifth oldest university in the UK but we have an outlook that is truly twenty-first century.
Founded in 1495 by Bishop Elphinstone, the University of Aberdeen boasts 500 years of excellence, and has secured a position as a leading international learning centre in the 21st century. Associated with five Nobel Prize winners, we have a proud heritage in teaching and research and focus on equipping our postgraduate taught students with advanced knowledge and techniques in specialised or cross-disciplinary areas of study.
Our world-leading research, learning excellence and global networks give our graduates a competitive advantage. Ranked 28th for International Outlook by THE World University Rankings 2020, University of Aberdeen offers you the opportunity to build networks with people from all over the world.
Our results speak for themselves— within six months of graduating, 96% of Aberdeen students go on to employment or further study, and some of our degree programmes provide students with industry placements as well as incorporating chartered examinations in to students’ periods of study.
