Our Program
The world economy is facing the ongoing effects of a pandemic as well as the Russian invasion of Ukraine that have further deepened the economic crisis. The current situation demands critical public expenditure on healthcare, education, social protection, and climate change adaptation…YET mainstream economics programs continue to use the same approach.
The Levy Institute is well known for its work in macroeconomic theory and policy analysis, the development and exploration of alternative measures of economic well-being and income and time poverty, and its continuing efforts to extend the work of Distinguished Scholars Hyman P. Minsky and Wynne Godley. The programs offer students the opportunity of hands-on-research, working alongside professors who are actively engaged in tackling today’s most pressing economic problems applying what they learn in the classroom to real-world research.
You have options for joining the ranks of program alumni who have continued their academic preparation in PhD programs, as well as work for governments, economic policy think tanks, and other organizations at the forefront of economic and social justice.
