Our Program
Programs in the Biden School combine excellence in the classroom with a focus on substantive real-world experiential learning opportunities for our students. Consistent with our founding principles, all of our programs are distinctively interdisciplinary and applied. The challenges of our times are not neatly bundled in disciplinary packages—they must be approached from multiple, creative vantage points.
Our faculty and students work directly with the diverse communities we serve, learn from them as we apply our knowledge and research to their challenges and constantly refine our solutions so that we may form a bridge between the community of ideas and the community of action.
Our graduate programs include:
MPA—Master of Public Administration (on-campus and online modalities available)
MPH—Master of Public Health in Health Policy & Management
M.A. and Ph.D. in Urban Affairs & Public Policy
M.S. and Ph.D. in Disaster Science & Management
Master's and Ph.D. in Energy & Environmental Policy
We also offer graduate certificate programs in Nonprofit & Voluntary Action as well as Historic Preservation.
Hundreds of public, private, and nonprofit institutions, domestic and international, utilize the Biden School’s expertise. We engage in sponsored and unsponsored research, analyze policy, and provide technical assistance to a wide range of governmental, nonprofit, and community institutions. The ongoing accomplishments of our faculty, professionals, and students have been amplified by an extensive range of partnerships with organizations in all sectors, and by the contributions of Biden School alumni who are working in communities across the globe.
Many of our external partnerships are maintained through the work of our embedded and affiliated research and public service centers:
Biden Institute
Center for Applied Demography and Survey Research
Center for Community Research and Service
Center for Historic Architecture and Design
Institute for Public Administration
Disaster Research Center*
Center for Energy and Environmental Policy*
