Program/Fellowship Description

The Meridian Center for Cultural Diplomacy (MCCD) organizes, presents, and circulates a variety of high-profile, international exhibitions each year, sending these to museums, embassies, and cultural institutions around the United States and the world. MCCD also organizes and implements cultural exchanges for the U.S. Department of State and for foreign governments. While MCCD is small, its responsibilities are vast, presenting many learning opportunities for Fellows through active collaboration with staff members. Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Involvement in day-to-day operations of cultural and exhibition programs.
  • Design project materials for promotional purposes using Canva and other programs.
  • Assist with cultural programs, receptions, and planning for future activities, in particular research for new exhibitions, cultural programs, and grant proposals.
  • Determine, write, and edit content for a range of communication vehicles, including the Meridian blog, website, brochures, newsletters, and other publications.
  • Determine, write, and edit content for individual projects' websites and social media outlets.
  • Completing all organizational administrative responsibilities in a timely manner.
  • Participation in Fellowship cohort activities
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Qualifications/Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be:

· An undergraduate or graduate student in a related field (art history, museum studies, arts management, public history, or international studies) or the equivalent in experience

· A highly motivated self-starter with superb communication and organizational skills, and high attention to detail

· A team player with the ability to follow through on long-term projects and to work independently

· Experienced with Microsoft Office

· Familiarity with archival research and exhibition development is a plus


Applicants are required to:

· Commit 16-24 hours per week to the fellowship, which follows university semester schedules

· Be fluent in verbal and written English
