ABOUT THIS ROLE

BerlinRosen is seeking an HR Generalist.

The ideal candidate should have a passion for people management and HR responsibilities and be comfortable in a fast-paced, quickly-scaling environment. This role will support the People Operations team with all facets of HR (new hire onboarding, employee relations, benefits, learning and development, compensation, recruiting, etc.). In addition to ongoing HR responsibilities, this individual will provide general administrative support, reporting to the Director of HR. The HR Generalist will also have the opportunity to lead special projects.

Note: This role is currently fully remote within the U.S., on Eastern Time, and will be based in New York, New York when we return to our offices (date TBD).



ACCOUNTABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

As the HR Generalist, you will...

  • Provide general administrative support to the HR department and support broader HR projects when necessary
  • Assist employees with basic questions, benefits escalations, PTO, and Leaves of Absence
  • Maintain and submit semi-monthly and bi-weekly payroll
  • Troubleshoot external and internal requests and inquiries and proactively find solutions
  • Assist managers and practice leaders with the annual review process
  • Assist with maintenance and administration of HRIS System
  • Oversee the HR onboarding and offboarding process, including:
    • Leading new hire orientation (weekly) and new hire check-ins (post-30 and 90 days)
    • Conducting exit interviews for voluntary terminations in order to analyze trends and recommend solutions
    • Follow up with benefits carriers and vendors to ensure employees are enrolled/terminated timely
  • Assist with the development and coordination of learning and development initiatives
  • Assist in managing a diverse set of company-wide HR projects and initiatives as assigned, including a company-wide internship program and employee engagement events

Essential skills:

  • Minimum 4 years of HR experience, preferably most recently as an HR generalist, with knowledge and practical application of all HR disciplines and practices
  • Strong administrative experience owning payroll, benefits administration, open enrollment and employee on/offboarding
  • Proven track record of effective priority management in a fast-paced environment
  • Some experience in assisting with employee relations in compliance with labor laws
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to take initiative, maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion and independent judgment
  • Well developed written, presentation, organization, and editing skills
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to contribute within a team setting, including excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Solution-oriented with proactive problem solving, and exceptional research skills
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office and/or Google G-Suite
  • Basic understanding of office technology such as video meeting tools
  • Intermediate HRIS and ATS administration experience. Experience with UKG/UltiPro and Greenhouse a plus.
