Headquartered in Seattle’s Chinatown/International District, The Chinese Information and Service Center (CISC) is a nonprofit agency providing a full range of human services to immigrant communities from many countries and cultures. CISC is seeking an Executive Director to lead the agency to a new level of success.
The agency has an extremely dedicated Board and Staff who are deeply committed to its mission. The new Executive Director will have the opportunity to lead the agency in continuing its growth and service to the community by providing a broad range of social services to its clients.
CISC was established in 1972 to initially provide translation services to the Chinese elderly community. Today, CISC offers a multi-faceted program of services, tailored to multi-cultural, multi-lingual, and/or limited English-speaking people in King County. Each Year CISC serves more than 20,000 immigrants and their families, throughout King County, WA.
There are currently more than 90 staff, assisted by work-study students and hundreds of community volunteers. The agency has language capacity in Cantonese, Mandarin, Toisanese, Taiwanese, Hakka, Chiuchow, Shanghainese, Fukienese, Malay, Vietnamese, Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Spanish, Russian, Somali and English.
The Executive Director reports to a volunteer board of directors and operates with wide latitude and authority in the day to day operations of the organization.
