In this role, the Volunteer Program Manager will be responsible for executing short-term objectives to achieve the long-term goals of the Mission Delivery Department, specific to Volunteer Programs. The Volunteer Programs Manager will be responsible for:

  • Handling the intake process by which volunteers become involved with the organization from application to placement
  • Assigning the Volunteer teams to different missions, communicating assignments & determinations to volunteers, and documenting assignments in Raiser's Edge database in a timely manner
  • Providing ongoing attention to the recruitment, retention and recognition of volunteers
  • Assisting with increasing visibility and education about the the organization
  • Supervising and supporting the Volunteer Program intern(s), office, and volunteers
  • Designing and implementing a plan to recruit new volunteers with special emphasis on bilingual (Spanish-speaking) volunteers


  • 3+ years of Volunteer Management experience in the Social Services sector
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Computer savvy
  • Microsoft Office/Suite proficient
  • Solid problem solving and time management skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
  • Able to multitask efficiently and effectively

Desired Skills:

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Working knowledge of Raiser's Edge and Salesforce
