Senior Accountant, Purchase College ($65k - $70k)

The Senior Accountant for Campus Foundations and Charitable Entities works under the direction of the Associate Director of Finance. The Senior Accountant will maintain and monitor the monthly departmental accounting calendar/checklist to ensure accuracy and timeliness of the monthly close cycle and reporting. The individual will perform reviews and analyze department transactions to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with appropriate Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Purchase College, Foundation and, SUNY policies, Federal and New York State regulation. 

The College has the vibrant support of its foundations which are integral to the success of the College's academic programs. The position of Senior Accountant, for Campus Foundations and Related Entities is an important position in the oversight of the foundations' financial resources.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience which demonstrates progressive responsibility for financial accounting, and analysis. A four-year degree in finance, accounting or a related field is required (public accounting experience is a plus). Must be well grounded in accounting, demonstrate strong analytical thinking, efficient organization, effective oral and written communication skills, and proficiency with Excel. Must be able to navigate comfortably in multiple systems required to gather data and execute transactions. We seek an individual who is able to work independently while also providing support to the team and campus community.
