Scion Staffing (, is seeking an all-star Director of Youth Programs for a nonprofit that does amazing work for kids! This exciting organization is conveniently located in San Rafael, California. If you’re a change agent, who’s passionate about work that makes an impact internally, and in the community, then we want to get to know you! We’re looking for an energetic leader with a strong sense of fiscal administration, true people management, innovation and sophistication to enhance the program.

What you’ll be doing:

-Orchestrate child development programs.

-Oversee personnel administration and supervise an energetic management team!

-Manage multiple child development sites, grant and contract compliance, budget development and financial oversight.  

-Examine and direct program operations and support.

-Develop and manage a $4 million per year budget from various funding sources.

-Supervise child development centers including setting and achieving program goals, successfully completing projects, and ensuring compliance.

-Perform community relations, as well as build and maintain relationships with additional community organizations.

-Meet and/or exceed program operation standards including reporting, monitoring, and evaluation.

-Represent the organization during meetings by giving presentations and consulting both public and private entities.

What you offer:

-5+ years of supervisory experience in child development programs, or another highly related field.

-Exposure to teaching, education and youth services is highly beneficial.

-Individuals from a for-profit background are encouraged to apply!

-Eligibility for Child Development Director Permit.

-Bachelors in Early Childhood Education, Education, or another related discipline.

-Fluency in budget development/monitoring and fiscal aspects of program management.

-Knowledge of federal, state, and private funding patterns and procedures.

-Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.

-Knack for writing technical materials and effectively presenting information to management, public groups, and the Board of Directors.

-Track record of being a change agent!

-Experience reorganizing an organization would be helpful.

-Familiarity managing unionized staff, working in social services, and/or for a foundation is a plus but not required.
