A nonprofit organization in New York City is actively seeking a new Development Associate for a promising opportunity with their growing Development Department. In this role, the Development Associate will be responsible for assisting the Chief Development Officer in the implementation of organization's Development and Alumni Engagement plan to meet goals and objectives established for the Department. The Development Associate will be responsible for: 

  • Management of a computerized database (Raiser's Edge) that shall contain records of all constituents
  • Assisting in the implementation of a comprehensive Constituent Management System that centers on using a personal approach to cultivating existing and acquired constituents and by focusing on techniques to renew, retain, and upgrade support from individuals
  • Handling the production of labels or files for bulk mail, the production or out-sourcing of personalized mailing, the management of lists, files, and the production of tracking systems and status reports for personal visit programs
  • Management of pledge and gift receipts, recording, and acknowledgment systems
  • Assisting in the creation and production of written and graphic materials used to support the cultivation and solicitation of constituents
  • Assisting in the processes of identifying gift prospects, determining prospect levels, assigning constituency management codes, and profiling candidates
  • Handling other duties, as needed


  • 1+ year of Development experience
  • Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Project Management background
  • Computer savvy
  • Microsoft Office/Suite proficient
  • Solid problem solving and time management skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
