Accountant 


The Accountant for Campus Foundations and Related Entities will apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); Federal and New York State regulations; SUNY; Purchase College and Foundation policies to record financial transactions between general ledger and sub-ledgers; resolve discrepancies; prepare financial reports; maintain financial records; prepare and reconcile monthly financial reports; analyze and reconcile transactions between the fundraising and financial systems. The individual will perform, review and analyze transactions ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance. 


The College has the vibrant support of its foundations which are integral to the success of the College's academic programs. The position of Accountant, for Campus Foundations and Related Entities is an important position in the oversight of the foundations' financial resources.


The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience which demonstrates progressive responsibility for financial accounting, financial reports and analysis. A four-year degree in finance, accounting or a related field is required. Key attributes sought are thorough grounding in accounting, strong analytical thinking, inquisitive, efficient organization, effective oral and written communication skills, and proficiency with Excel spreadsheets. We seek an individual who is able to work independently as well as part of a team.
