    Summary of Position:

    Under the supervision of the Director, Institutional Advancement, the Coordinator works with the Institutional Advancement team and within the External Affairs division at-large to assist in raising money from individuals, building upon Meridian's unique engagement model of high-level salon dinners, receptions, and flagship events that take place throughout the year.

    The Coordinator is responsible for supporting development activities and programs with a focus on individual philanthropic fundraising. Primary responsibilities include drafting gift proposals, sponsorship materials, and other donor correspondence; writing prospect profiles and donor briefings for senior leadership; tracking donor engagement; event management including developing guest lists, programming, and logistics; tracking finances for Council donors and prospects; and other special projects as needed.

    This position is located in Washington D.C. and Meridian requires MD, DC, or VA residence for all employees. The position may work partially remotely until further notice.

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Manage donor communications system with the Associate which includes drafting, sending, and tracking solicitation letters, mailings, and invoices.
    • Draft gift proposals, sponsorship materials, and gift reports
    • Track donor engagement through CRM platform Salesforce, including payment and renewal status, history of giving, and wealth prospecting information.
    • Develop reports on financial positions, memberships, prospective donors, mailing lists, event invitation status, etc.
    • Coordinate events for Meridian Council members including sending invitations, tracking RSVP's, managing logistics, preparing materials, producing virtual platform, providing day-of staff support, and sending follow-up to attendees and speakers; assist with communications efforts around IA programs including writing program summaries and content for the website and newsletters, drafting social media posts, update website etc.
    • Assist with the Meridian Ball, including overseeing embassy dinners, seating, working in conjunction with other team members to meet member expectations, coordinating Communications deliverables, pre-and post-Ball events, and other duties.
    • Prepare periodic reports detailing the status of fundraising goals, analyzing individual philanthropic efforts, special event outcomes, membership updates, and equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
    • Conduct new and current philanthropic partner research to help advance the acquisition of small and medium-sized gifts; prepare prospect research profiles
    • Develop and implement organizational systems to increase efficiency and standardize schedule of donor communications and standardize event processes.
    • Manage procurement process for Development division including drafting and editing contracts for consultants, service vendors, and software subscriptions, to ensure compliance with federal procurement guidelines. Leadership Connect, Consultant contracts, iWave, Fionta, Linvio, LinvioPay, etc.
    • Other support of front-line fundraisers as needed
    • Responsible for completing all organizational administrative responsibilities in a timely manner and meeting all organizational administrative deadlines

    Requirements:

    Education/Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field
    • 2-4 years of work experience in a professional / office setting, non-profit setting preferred
    • Or any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

    • Familiarity with or interest in international relations
    • Strong inter-cultural communication skills; maturity, cultural sensitivity, and tact suitable for working with individuals from around the world

    Technical Requirements:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams is necessary for this role
    • Experience with Canva, Zoom and Salesforce is helpful
