POSITION

The Executive Assistant and Special Projects Coordinator is critical to the successful operations at Leading Educators. This role provides essential support to the President and Chief Networks Officer, including administrative and management support, as well as supporting of the overall effectiveness of the Program Leadership Team.

The Executive Assistant and Special Projects Coordinator is a highly motivated individual that enjoys serving as a key operator within the organization. This professional is extremely organized and detail-oriented, with a keen eye for developing efficient systems. A successful candidate thrives in a fast-paced work environment, working in collaboration with the President and Chief Networks Officer at Leading Educators. Internal systems for calendar, project, and deadline management are pivotal to the role; strong writing and communication skills are essential for external facing materials and communication.

The Executive Assistant and Special Projects Coordinator will gain unique experience in non-profit leadership support. Leading Educators is a rapidly growing organization, and the position offers a deep understanding of education reform, non-profit structure and management, program expansion, and executive leadership team responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support for the President and Chief of Networks

  • Partner with the President and Chief of Networks in developing project plans based on organizational goals

  • Performs routine administrative duties as needed, including scheduling and travel appointments, planning and preparing materials for meetings and special events, and reconciling expenses

  • Draft internal and external communications as needed

Program Leadership Team Management and Operations

  • Partner with the President and the Chief of Networks to develop a strategy plan to execute the Leading Educators Program Leadership Team goals

  • Manages the Program Leadership Team in-person, virtual, and committee meeting scheduling, planning, and follow-up

  • Collaborate across teams to design and coordinate meetings

  • Measure effectiveness of Program Leadership Team meetings using appropriate systems and tools

Special Projects

  • Manages communication and collaboration schedules and systems across a national, complex program team

  • Conducts research on key issues identified by the Program Leadership Team, as needed

  • Assists in the project planning and execution of special projects and events, in conjunction with national and regional team members, as needed

  • Measure performance of the Program Leadership Team using appropriate systems, tools and techniques

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Compensation is competitive, commensurate with experience. In addition, Leading Educators offers a very generous benefits package including 100% paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for individual employees. Additional premium costs are covered 60% by Leading Educators for partners and dependents on medical, dental, and vision plans. We also offer a 4% matching 401k plan, Flexible Spending Accounts for medical, childcare and commuter expenses, as well as an employer-sponsored Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Benefits are valued at or above $8,000 for employees.

Additionally, Leading Educators offers generous time off with pay to support a sustainable high-performance work culture. During the first three years of employment, full time staff accrue 22 days a year. Five additional days are accrued after the third and sixth year of employment. Leading Educators also offers 16 additional paid days off for various holidays, including three floating holidays staff may use at their discretion.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • At least three years of professional experience in the nonprofit or education sector

  • Outstanding problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)

  • Excellent organization and focus on details, including both communications and budgeting

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment without direct supervision

  • Ability to anticipate and respond to changing administrative needs of senior staff

  • Ability work independently or collaboratively as needed

  • Ability to work under ambitious timelines in a start-up, entrepreneurial environment
