The Communications Specialist contributes to the development and implementation of a proactive and responsive communications strategy that positions the organization as the leader in their mission. This strategy must be effective for multiple audiences including industry, public sector, researchers, philanthropic and private donors, policy makers and development organizations, advocates, experts, physicians and patients.
As a member of a two-person team, the Communications Specialist will be an active content developer and be responsible for tactical implementation of various communications campaigns. The Specialist will participate in media and PR engagement, the development and dissemination of publications, implement online and social media activities, liaise with vendors/contractors, and carry out departmental administrative needs, participate on behalf of the organization at events and conferences, and develop communications materials.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and 3-5+ years of professional experience in comprehensive broad-based communications, with emphasis on writing and content development (public health, science, or related experience preferred but not required).
