The Aspen Leadership Group is proud to partner with Auburn University in the search for a Senior Director of Development, Raymond J. Harbert College of Business.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an energetic, experienced leader with proven fundraising skills and management experience. The successful candidate will benefit from a highly motivated staff with a track record of meeting and exceeding goals; the opportunity to hire new members on the team; a new Dean who is savvy about fundraising with experience closing six- and seven-figure gifts; strong leadership at every level; and tremendous alumni pride. These factors combined with a thoughtful and visionary strategic plan have propelled the Harbert College of Business’s development efforts forward at a rapid pace. The ideal candidate for the position of Senior Director will possess a demonstrated ability to work successfully with diverse stakeholders; have the desire and willingness to work collaboratively in a team-based environment; and have superior interpersonal and communications skills, including public speaking and persuasive writing. The Senior Director will manage and lead a highly motivated team in post-campaign strategies and leverage the current fundraising momentum for future development initiatives.

The Senior Director of Development at the Raymond J. Harbert College of Business is a pivotal role in the Office of Development. The Harbert College produces one of the highest fundraising totals each fiscal year. Exceeding its $100 million campaign goal by raising more than $130 million, the college has great momentum. Currently, there is a new graduate business education facility under construction. This is an exciting project for prospects/donors and for the new Development leader.

Dean Annette L. Ranft started on August 1, 2018, and is poised to take the Harbert College to the next level of excellence. The university will complete its strategic plan this fall, and colleges will align their plans in spring 2019. With the Dean and stakeholders, the Senior Director of Development will create a strategic funding plan to position the Harbert College for the next campaign. Although inheriting a seasoned team, the incoming Senior Director of Development will determine staffing needs and will have the opportunity to hire team members.
