The Case Manager is an integral member of Sanctuary for Families' Anti-Trafficking Initiative (“ATI”), which is one of the nation's leading service providers for immigrant victims of human trafficking and gender-based violence in the country. In addition to legal services, ATI provides its clients with a wide range of social, case management, and advocacy services. ATI's direct representation and advocacy on behalf of clients aims to improve the legal rights of and protections available to its immigrant victim clients.

  • Coordinates case management with the ATI Supervising Social Worker, with an emphasis on serving immigrant victims of human trafficking identified through the Human Trafficking Intervention Court (HTIC);
  • Coordinates referral and placement for immediate client needs, including shelter and medical treatment;
  • Assists clients of Sanctuary's Anti-Trafficking Initiative in obtaining public benefits for which they are eligible (e.g. Medicaid, food stamps, housing and childcare subsidies);
  • Assists clients of the Anti-Trafficking Initiative in obtaining self-sufficiency through appropriate referrals for mental health counseling, financial counseling, ESL classes, job readiness programs, and higher education;
  • Prepares requests for educational and financial assistance grants on behalf of clients of the Anti-Trafficking Initiative;
  • Refers clients of the Anti-Trafficking Initiative to other appropriate legal and social services within and outside of Sanctuary;
  • Provides culturally appropriate support to clients who have experienced gender-based violence as they engage with various social and legal services within Sanctuary and with other service providers
  • Assists ATI staff attorneys in the preparation and filing of immigration applications on behalf of clients of the Anti-Trafficking Initiative;
  • Collaborates with the Director of the Anti-Trafficking Initiative and staff attorneys to complete grant reporting duties to funders of the Anti-Trafficking Initiative;
  • Maintains the Legal Tracking System database with updated information about clients of the Anti-Trafficking Initiative;
  • Performs any administrative support services for ATI;
  • Performs other department or agency-related duties or special projects as directed by the Director of the Anti-Trafficking Initiative.

  • Fluency in Mandarin required. Ability to communicate in other relevant community languages is desirable, although not required
  • B.A. required
  • Experience working with immigrants or survivors of sexual violence and ability to work with victims of severe trauma is desirable
