UCLA Latino Policy & Politics Initiative (LPPI) champions nonpartisan, evidence-based domestic policy solutions that improve the economic, political, and social landscape for Latinos and other communities of color in states and localities across the U.S. through research, advocacy, mobilization, and leadership development. LPPI leverages UCLA's cross-disciplinary strengths to create an enterprise-wide home for Latino policy with internal research programs focused on health access, economic opportunity and social mobility, and voting and democracy.
LPPI is seeking a Director of Programs to oversee and scale a portfolio of programmatic initiatives as the organization seeks to expand mobilization, advocacy, and leadership initiatives that complement a diverse and agile research portfolio. The successful candidate will have a passion for the transformative power of data-informed, cross-sectoral partnerships that ensure a just and inclusive democracy for Latinos and other communities of color.
The Director of Programs serves as part of the UCLA LPPI's executive team and represents the organization externally and internally across UCLA to lead real-world impact around policy transformation and substantive representation.
As a lateral collaborator to LPPI's Director of Research, the Director of Programs will work to complement the organization's rigorous research portfolio to inform innovative and impactful programs and partnerships that lead to equitable policy outcomes and improved governance across a diverse set of geographic jurisdictions in the U.S.
Under the direction of UCLA LPPI's executive director, the Director of Programs will be responsible for the creation and implementation of core policy initiatives and external leadership programs that advance data-informed governance to improve the quality of life for Latinos and other communities of color. he Director of Programs will be a leading strategist for the organization, employing innovative and politically astute tactics to grow and sustain LPPI's policy initiatives and programs through external partnerships, narrative change, and the mobilization of a Latino Agenda. They will expand and deepen relationships with key policy stakeholders, including elected officials, civil rights advocates, the media and funders, to successfully ensure Latinos are integrated into fundamental policy decision-making across issue areas, so that every issue is truly a Latino issue.
