The Institute for Business & Information Technology (IBIT) division is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time tenure track faculty position for the Network Services & Computing Systems (NSCOM) AAS-T program and the Cyber Security and Systems Administration concentration of the Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Information Systems & Technology. The instructor shall perform duties and functions under the general direction of the Dean of IBIT division. Being a faculty member of NSCOM/ISIT, we recognize the need for continuous professional development and industry certification. Bellevue College provides funding for training and certification for skills related to this position.
This position is represented by the Bellevue College Association of Higher Education (BCAHE) union.
COMPREHENSIVE WAGE AND BENEFIT PACKAGE
Annual salary is based on a 176-day contract with a minimum of $64,766.96; beginning salary will be determined by the assessment of the candidate's education and related experience.New hires cannot be placed above $69,446.14 unless exceptional circumstances prevail.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The IBIT division delivers professional/technical education, programs, credentials, and transfer pathway opportunities for diverse student populations. IBIT prepares students for success in current and future careers, engages in innovative grants, and collaborates with a variety of partners to meet the educational and workforce needs of our community in the areas of business, digital marketing, data analytics, accounting, information technology, and digital media. The Institute houses four baccalaureate degree programs, pursues grant-based opportunities, and serves a diverse student population.
Teaching and Students
Teach courses that may include, but not limited to: System Administration, Cybersecurity, Network Security, Networking, Penetration Testing, Forensics, OS Hardening, Virtualization, Cloud Architecture, PC Hardware and Software, and other security topics
Foster a positive, equitable learning environment where diversity and pluralism are advanced
Promote teaching and learning excellence in the NSCOM/ISIT and BAS-IST programs
Assess student learning outcomes in a variety of assessment methods
Promote program and recruit students from a culturally diverse population
Provide ongoing guidance in student career development
Participate in advising students and improving student success
Currency and Relevancy
Maintain current knowledge and skills in security, networking and system administration topics
Maintain currency and relevancy of curriculum and program via trainings, professional conferences, certification, etc.
Participate in on-going curriculum development, revision, and implementation that incorporates diverse perspectives
Develop and recruit advisory committee members and meet with potential employers
Consult and collaborate with colleagues at other colleges, businesses, or professional organizations
Represent the college in community events or statewide inter-institutional initiatives
Mentor/coach students in local, regional, national and/or international cybersecurity competitions.
Department and College Governance
Participate in program activities, such as mentoring adjunct faculty and others
Participate in program, division and college governance
Perform other reasonable duties and functions that may be assigned by the President, the Provost, the Division Chair or Program Chair
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution
Current industry first-aid/CPR certificate or acquire within 90 days of initial employment
Current industry certifications (one or more) such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA N+, CCNA, CompTIA Security+, VCP, MCSA, MCSE, CEH, CISM, CISSP, GSEC, CHFI, AWS Associate, etc.
Substantial, recent full-time experience in the industry and/or teaching experience in Cybersecurity, Networking, Network Security, Systems Administration and related areas
Demonstrate commitment to working with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds and academic readiness
Effective oral and written communication skills
Preparedness to teach using multiple modalities in various instructional settings, include traditional, hybrid, and on-line course development and instruction within an evolving discipline
Experience teaching, developing curriculum, and program management in post-secondary setting
Demonstrate understanding of and active interest in current trends and approaches in information technology fields
Experience in cybersecurity. Such as, but not limited to, forensics, incident response, OS hardening, penetration testing, etc.
Experience with management, administration of virtualized hardware such as VMware or Hyper-V environments
Must possess or obtain certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CHFI, GSEC, CCNA CyberOps and AWS Solution Architect within 2 years of hire date
