A highly visible arts related nonprofit serving NYC youth has partnered with NonProfit People Search (formerly Nonprofit People & Systems) to locate a full-time Director of Development.

Opportunity:

Working with a small but exceptionally autonomous staff and a collaborative Executive Director, you will help define the strategic direction and provide oversight for all fundraising and communications activities within the organization. If you are a hands-on and creative fundraising professional with a proven track record of building and managing high-impact / diverse fundraising initiatives, this may be your next career move.


Responsibilities:

Specific duties include defining departmental goals/plans and growing the portfolio of fundraising tools across all constituent groups. In execution of these plans, you will implement a fundraising and communications infrastructure to increase giving via major gifts, annual fund, planned giving, grants, campaigns, special events, corporate giving and foundation support. You will work to expand current fundraising activities to new levels and develop strategies for increasing the organization’s revenue generation in an efficient, sustainable, and scalable manner. Working closely with the Board of Directors, you will be instrumental in creating a culture of philanthropy and support / develop board members as they play an active role in fundraising.


Qualifications:

The position requires a Bachelor's degree and 5-7+ years of fundraising leadership experience. A collaborative management style based on open, transparent, continual communication, sharing, and inclusive decision-making coupled with a solution-oriented and entrepreneurial spirit are a must. Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal), proven board development experience and strong computer skills are a required
